Families

I strongly believe in the power of personal connections. That being said, i prefer a very personalized one-on-one approach with the family to understand very well their needs and preferences. Based on my experience, there are families who prefer a nanny who has a lot of experience ( which falls in the career nanny category) or families who prefer a nanny without a lot of experience. I made a more extensive description for both categories below and maybe that will help you decide better what suits your needs.
Career nannies 5+ years experience
Experienced nannies have developed skills and confidence in caring for children, given parents piece of mind.
Seasoned nannies know how to establish routines, set boundaries, and manage challenging behaviors.
Experienced nannies have likely encountered various childcare scenarios, making them more emotionally intelligent and mature.
Some experienced nannies may have specialized training or experience with specific needs, such as special needs or infant care.
Parents may assume that experienced nannies require less training or guidance, saving time and effort.
Experienced nannies have likely handled emergencies and know how to respond calmly and effectively
Experienced nannies know how to plan engaging activities and stimulate children’s development.
Nannies 1-5 years experience:
Some parents prefer to train a nanny in their specific parenting style and routines, without any preconceived notions or habits from previous experience.
Nannies with less experience might me more adaptable and open to learning new things, making them a better fit for families with unique needs or schedules.
Parents might worry that experienced nannies may have developed habits or methods that contradict their own parenting style.
By hiring a less experienced nanny, parents can shape their approach to childcare and ensure alignment with their values and beliefs.
